Kopfschlag is the artist/band name of an indie rock project and brainchild of singer-songwriter Sheetal “Mr. Sheets” Sethi, who records, produces and performs all the music. Mr. Sheets predominantly plays guitar, but for the music recordings, he also plays bass guitar and composes the drum track electronically. From time to time, friends of Mr. Sheets may get involved with vocal coaching, lyric writing, singing or playing other instruments. For performances, Mr. Sheets will perform the music of Kopfschlag with acoustic guitar at open-mic nights or private functions, but hopes to do something on a grander scale in the future.
Although Kopfschlag was known as previous names before, such as Mr. Sheets Persona and Newton Persona, the project has it’s roots from his home town of Reading, England, as early as 2000. The first song produced was called “Mr. Freeze”, using a drum loop and vocal sample, using Sound Recorder on a Windows 98 operating system, but the song in it’s digital form has been lost.
